We were so blessed to be treated by Jared’s mom Jean to a very wonderful trip to the beach for Christmas! Each morning that we woke up and heard the waves crash against the shore we were reminded of God’s awsome power. He is our creator God. There is just something about the ocean that makes you feel so small and insignifigant in this world.

A few of my favorite things… Playing for hours in the endless sand!

The pure joy on Eve’s face when she was in the water!
a boat ride and snorkeling with our family and friends! Check out Eve’s glasses she cracked us up in those things she loved them. They were laid to rest however at the bottom of the ocean when she threw them over board. She spent the next half hour pointing to the water. I’m sure she was thinking ….."daddy daddy could you please dive down to the bottom of the ocean and get my favorite sunglasses!" They were fun while they lasted!!
A trip to a beautiful waterfall!

Playing with Grandma in the ocean!
A few thoughts: love, beauty, sunburns, the smell of sunblock, the kids can just run, gratefulness, tiredness, sand, joy, more freckles, sunsets!

Want to know what we have been up to? Baking, Baking, Baking! Our house has turned into a cookie making factory!

We have made over six dozen Christmas Cookie! Anyone who came through our door was quickly put to work decorating cookies. Our teacher Wendell was a great help! With some instruction from Naomi our resident cookie expert he was soon decorating like a pro!

All the missionary families living in our building were coming together to make goodie plates for the guards, maintenance workers, gardeners and office staff who work at our building complex! the ladies got together in our PJs, listened to Christmas music, ate goodies, assembled plates, watched a Christmas movie and wrapped presents.

Real life happens on the mission field so come along with us and share our journey!
Blessing#1 for being a missionary in the Philippines!

They have great playgrounds! You know the ones that could seriously injure your child if they fell or tripped? The kind that have been banned in all fifty states in the US! Yeah, those kind! And they are a blast! The kids had a great time! The slides went on for days, the jungle-gymns were miles high and, yes, they even had a merry go round!

Doesn’t lydia look a little scared! I had to help her back down!

I just have to say that Filipino babies are the cutest little things you have ever seen! That being said our friend Hilda was getting ready to have her baby. We asked around to see if babyshowers were common in the Philippines. They said not really but we wanted to bless Hilda so we mentioned it to her and she was very excited. So some of the other missionary ladies and I threw her a shower to bless her with some much needed baby items!

We came home the other night from a meeting and was informed that Naomi and Lydia had gotten out of their beds and were found eating the candy canes off our Christmas tree! Of course they were caught! But before Naomi went back to bed she stated she must brush her teeth again because she had just had candy! Jared and I laughed so hard! Let’s get this straight….. Deviant enough to steal candy but responsible enough to brush her teeth after she eats the stolen candy! Lydia, by the way, just went straight back to bed!
